SpYder Rydes

Our Spyder Ryder of America Chapter Ride was through the Ocala National Forest. We stopped at Alexander Spring for a break and to meet up with other riders.

We did a new route to Crabby Joe's on the Sunglow pier in Daytona Beach Shores. This was the first time they had us park on the pier, so that was interesting!

We did a new route through eastern parts of Orlando on our way to New Smyrna Beach at lunch at Chases on the Beach.

The North East region of the Florida Coast to Coast Spyder Ryders of America was launched in grand style at Jacksonville Powersports. We had a great turn out for the kick-off.

Our first Florida Coast-to-Coast ride started in Orlando, and then we went coast-to-coast from New Smyrna Beach to Clearwater Beach. Lydia's back wasn't doing well, so she wasn't able to make it.

Lunch was at Chili's in Winter Haven, on our way to Solomon's Castle, a destination that Kenny recommended we check out.

We had a really nice ride through the Ocala National Forest on our way to the Golden Lion Cafe in Flagler Beach for lunch. Then we ran the Ormond Loop before stopping on Main Street in Daytona Beach.

We've ridden our Spyders through Winter Garden many times, but for this ride we stopped, had lunch and walked around the downtown area.

Bikeweek 2014! Breakfast was at Crabby Joe's. Followed by stopping for gas and air before riding the Ormond Loop on our way to Hidden Treasures for lunch.

It was time to visit the manatees at Blue Spring State Park. We FINALLY got to do this ride, after re-scheduling four times because of bad weather.

For our first ride of 2014, we rode through Titusville, stopping first at the Space View Park on our way to the Breakers on New Smyrna Beach.

For the last Spyder ride of 2013, we took a leasurely ride to the East side of Orlando, to Mullet Lake Park where we stopped briefly, and then on to Black Hammock Restaurant overlooking Lake Jesup.

On our way to Mt Dora this year, we stopped at the Yalaha Bakery first. Then on to Mt. Dora where we had dinner at PizzAmore before seeing the lights.

We had a smallish Spyder group together in St. Augustine this year for the 2013 British Night Watch. Admitedly, the Christmas parade earlier in the day was more fun, so maybe we'll just to that next year.

The Ride for Dreams ride for 2013 was very well attended. We had a couple dozen Spyders and about 30 people who attended. The ride itself was police escorted and was the Seven Bridges ride in Jacksonville.

For Biketoberfest 2013, our Spyder group met for breakfast at Crabby Joe's and lunch was at the Golden Lion Cafe. We have perfect weather, and some nice riding through the day.

Sugarloaf Mountain ryde in the morning. Lunch at Hurricane Dockside Grill in Tavares followed by a ryde along Lake Dora and into Mt. Dora where we stopped for ice cream at Truly Scrumptous.

Other than the lovebugs, it was a nice ride on another Florida Scenic Highway on the way to New Smyrna Beach. Lunch was at The Breakers.

On Feb 2, 2013, we held our first Groundhog Day Ryde, visiting old sites and some new ones between Orlando and Daytona Beach. These pictures are from our lunch at Golden Lion Cafe at Flagler Beach.

Our Spyder group headed to Mount Dora to have dinner and see the Christmas lights display in the downtown and park area. We had never seen it before, and it was a nice sight following a good ride (although there was some controversy about stopping en route).

Our SpYder group rode to St. Augustine for the British Night Watch weekend. We had a great time seeing everyone and enjoying sights, shopping and dining in St. Augustine.

Spyder riders from Orlando, Daytona and Jacksonville participated in the annual Ride for Dreams ride to benefit Dreams Come True. We criss-crossed Jacksonville and the St. John's River going across the Seven Bridges along the way.

Sean and Cathy invited us to their home in Lakeland for an afternoon barbeque with fellow Spyder riders from the Central Florida area. It was an afternoon of great food and fellowship.

We had a full day of riding for Biketoberfest 2012 starting at the I-4 rest stop in Longwood. From there we went to Crabby Joe's at Daytona Beach for breakfast, then on to Main St. and then a ride of the Loop. Lunch was at the Golden Lion Cafe at Flagler Beach, followed by a return trip through the Loop and back to Main St. for some sights and shopping. For dinner we were at Down the Hatch in Ponce Inlet and saw a beautiful sunset over the inlet. The final bit of fun was a full stop on I-4 on the way home due to a bad accident which closed the highway. We had a very full and very fun day!!

In early September, the Central Florida Coast to Coast SRA group did a ryde to Crabby Bill's on Clearwater Beach.

The Florida Coast to Coast SpYder Ryder chapter members met up and headed out for lunch in Dade City, Florida. Kenny had something else on his mind, evidently, and ran out of gas on the way there :-)

In Feb 2012 we met up with fellow SpYder riders at the Daytona International Speedway. We had a prior commitment for the evening so we weren't able to ride the track with the rest of the group.

October in Daytona Beach is time for Biketoberfest! It's not quite as large as the Bike Week event in February but it's getting there. Lydia and I took the SpYder over to Daytona and met up with Laura and some other SpYder riders for a day of riding around Daytona. In the evening we went to the famous Iron Horse Saloon. It was quite an interesting day!
